Common Issues

  • Audio not playing? Make sure your device is not muted and your volume is up. Try restarting the app.
  • Map not loading? Confirm that location services are enabled and that you have a stable connection.
  • Can I use the tour offline? Yes! Once downloaded, audio and map access will work without internet. Although without the internet it will not be able to determine your exact location.

Q: How do I start the Golden Gate Bridge Audio Tour?

A: Open the StreetModo app, press play at Checkpoint 1 (The Flagpole), and follow the map and instructions from there.

Q: Do I need an internet connection?

A: You’ll need internet access to download the app and initial content, but once that’s done, the tour plays offline.

Q: Does the app track my location?

A: Only when actively playing the tour, and only to help guide you to the next checkpoint. We never store or share your location.

  • Use wired or Bluetooth headphones.
  • Enable location services for smoother checkpoint transitions.
  • Bring water and a jacket or sweatshirt — the bridge gets windy!
